The San Francisco Arts Commission announced Tuesday it will unveil four more art installations at San Francisco’s International Airport next week.

The installations, on view starting Nov. 18, are the last in a series of six artworks the governmental body commissioned for the airport’s brand new Terminal 3 East Concourse.

Two of the new artworks are by Bay Area artists — Sanaz Mazinani and Vanessa Marsh — and the other two consist of a sculpture by Ursula Von Rydingsvard and a ceramic mural by Gee’s Bend quilter Louisiana Bendolph.

Representatives of the SF Arts Commission say the collection at SFO exemplifies the city’s love of public art for the world.

“Through San Francisco’s percent-for-art program, the Arts Commission has created an unparalleled public art collection at SFO,” said Director of Cultural Affairs Tom DeCaigny. “With each new building project at SFO, the Arts Commission has the opportunity to work with a diverse group of artists to create an engaging and dynamic environment for travelers that reflects the innovation and creativity for which San Francisco is known and celebrated throughout the world.”

Two major pieces have already been installed in the new terminal: a 109-foot mosaic mural by San Francisco’s Amy Ellingson and a collection “reconfigured” San Francisco maps by Lordy Rodriguez, who is based in Hayward.

KQED Arts covered the new collection of art at SFO back in October.
